it’s london, baby! kat won a virgin atlantic ticket to london on my company’s facebook page for a beach photo contest we were having (i swear i didn’t rig it at all). so, i decided to accompany her on her trip to london!

yesterday i officially booked my ticket. i am super excited cause this marks the very first OK trip ever!! can you imagine all the photos that are going to come out of this?

also, it pays to work for a travel agency. found a room at the hyatt regency london (normally upwards of $400 US) for $160 US with the travel agent rate. kat, you better love me. and you also should call me back to confirm this is okay so i can book it. *grin*

i was going to work some tonight, but instead i found myself sitting on the floor with steph and kat (later, michael) just chatting about life and enjoying myself immensely.

we also ate an amazing dinner at hibiscus. more to come later on that whenever i get my food bloggin up and running again.

a life without girlfriends, i realized, would be really boring. i love you girls. <3

tiffany’s

i admit, there was a time that i went through the girly obligatory ‘tiffany’s’ phase. i fell out of it, but never really fell out of the love for their packaging. those cute little teal boxes call to me way more (and i mean WAY more) than anything tiffany’s sells. pure marketing genius.

well, tonight i got my first taste of how opening a tiffany’s box feels. garrick’s aunt and uncle gave us a very pretty crystal bowl (thank you thank you thank you!). while opening, garrick teased ‘you like the box more than the gift’

i do enjoy the bowl. but i really enjoy the box. and it’s about 10 times bigger than the teal box i had envisioned having back when. love color!!!!

p.s. this wasn’t meant for me to sound like a spoiled brat. i really do enjoy the bowl and am awed that we received such a nice gift. geez, don’t you know me at all?

happy birthday mother!!!! crazy wong ladies one week apart.

my mom is the best kind of beautiful. beautiful on the outside AND beautiful on the inside. you really can’t get much better than that. if you are sad, my mom is the perfect shoulder to cry on. if you want a laugh, my mom is the perfect person to do this with (whether it’s just listening to the crazy things she says that makes you laugh… or someone to laugh at your awful jokes that don’t make much sense to anyone else). if you feel like spending money, my mom will happily accompany you and tolerate dressing room after dressing room, and then be more happy than you if you find what you are looking for. if you need to talk, my mom has the perfect listening ears.

my mom has a wonderful smile. she has warm eyes and a hearty laugh. her hugs contain every ounce of love she has to offer. her words are genuine.

needless to say, i am one lucky girl.

p.s. she also tolerates all the awful pictures we take of her… *grin*

happy birthday to the sister!

i remember the first time i told my sister a secret. it was about a crush i had on a boy. it was in our living room at our house in round rock and i whispered it into her ear underneath a wooden chair. not sure why i thought that was secretive – not like we were hidden or anything – but it’s fun to think about. we giggled like true sisters. note that oriana was probably 4 or 5. and a couple days later she told my mom and i was mad… like it was the end of the world!

another time, we had gotten into a fight and she wrote a very remorseful note to me. i unfortunately didn’t bring it back to dallas so i could quote it word for word. but it read along the lines of this:

jeje,
i want to die. i wish i could starve and i will if you want me to. i am probably not your sister, i am probably adopted.

anyways, i’m missing a huge chunk of it. but the point is – at the ripe age of 5 or 6, my sister was vowing that she would starve if i wanted her to – just to have me forgive her. isn’t that sweet? hahaha.

in all seriousness, i love my sister. i am truly, truly blessed to have her in my life. she’s one of the biggest reasons why i look forward to going back home to austin. i admire her drive, her intelligence, her character, her humbleness… i could probably go on and on. i will be proud of her no matter what she does in her life and will always be one of her strongest supporters.

i hope you had a wonderful 18th birthday, wonderful, beautiful little sister. oh noes… she’s not so little anymore! *tear* =] i love you, oriana!

i am sad.

sad for my texas longhorns. sad that colt did not get to play his last game. sad that we put up a good fight, but they couldn’t celebrate.

sad for the banana republic scarf that the dogs decided to chew up.

sad that this weekend might be orbit’s last. sad that time flies by too fast.
