in the middle

here are some things i’m in the middle of doing

• looking for a bookshelf for the house + other organizational elements
• watching how i met your mother, entourage, scrubs
• reading several books including handle with care (jodi picoult), eat pray love (elizabeth gilbert), the brand you50 (tom peters) and crazy love (francis chen)
• exercising
• eating better

i’m sure there are more, but as i was thinking… there are a lot of things i’ll start and then i won’t finish. the books i think are understandable… but i would still like to finish all of them eventually. these aren’t crazy goals, but i hope to get them all done in 2011. haHA!

the wongs

christmas past (6.52)

after the shenanigans at the wong house (see video representation made by oliver here) for christmas, i taught oriana how to parallel park then headed back to dallas with my car full of crap (crap as in dirty clothes, shoes and presents). left at 3:00 pm and arrived at the pang house in time for christmas dinner at 5:30 pm (and stopped for gas). saw the dogs + g for the first time in a week – yay! aunt may made my two favorite desserts (she is awesome) and we had my favorite chicken from king bbq (also awesome). is my cantonese/mandarin getting better? no.

went home and bummed around with g until bed time. gave him the rest of my and my parent’s gifts which he thoroughly enjoyed. and thus concludes my christmas. now – onto new years in the atx!

6.52: g stole oink away from me for the first time during christmas :[ j/k, i left him with g… this would have to be the first time i ever spent christmas day with g’s family.

empire state of mind

we’re in nyc! it’s kind of sad because it is 10pm here (9pm at home) and we are already in our hotel room about to fall asleep. but give us a break – we’ve been up since 6am and we had a crying baby on the flight. and we’ve been walking since 3:30pm. excited for tomorrow! here’s a pic of us in times square to prove we are really here… and also a pic of oriana in a glove.

busy saturday (5.52)

today was busy. after getting back at around 2:45pm from girl’s night out/christmas gift exchange, woke up early to pack for nyc/austin and spend time with g. there’s this row of asian restaurants very, very close to our house and in the 2+ years we’ve lived here, we have never tried any of them. so for the first time, we tried the pho place. it was alright – not the worst, but not better than the one we always go to.

went to an irc event after that, where jessi volunteers, to give our adopted “single guy” his gifts! it was fun, and really enjoyed meeting “ubamichael” – he was really sweet. we were crazy and forced him to take picture with us. from there, i drove straight to austin and once i got there, hurried to get all nice looking to attend my mom’s work holiday party. came back home at around 10:30pm, finished packing with oriana and to bed i go!

5.52: finally trying the pho place… still need to try the sushi and thai places
