i’m getting inspired to cook again. yesterday morning, i curled up on the couch and read recipes and suggestions from thomas keller. i think some vegetable creations are on its way, along with some poussins or cornish hen. :]

a ups truck pulled up to my street as i was walking the dogs. he stopped, leaned out of the truck and asked me “be glad i’m not santa. have you been a bad girl or a good girl?” i figured we might have gotten a package and this was his clever way of delivering it so i joked back, “well, hopefully a good one”

and then he drove away.

i’d like to take this moment to quote one of the best bible verses… as a good reminder to everyone out there (as well as myself)

Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?

You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

i finally saw hp7.2 tonight. needless to say (nerdy to say?) – i feel completely and utterly sad. i’m not crazy or anything, but for some odd reason, it’s very, very bittersweet. i can’t believe i’ve been into harry potter for sooo many years (since i was 12)… that’s 13 years of awesomeness. i know it’s all incredibly nerdy and a little sad (in the pathetic way) but i am truly bummed.

oh well. this weekend i celebrated by making some butterbeer from scratch. so now if i feel nostalgic i can whip myself a mug of ice cold butterbeer while curling up with harry potter, books 1-7.
