plans

g and i hope to accomplish something by 2014, we decided yesterday. excited, nervous… we’ll see where it takes us. along the way, lots of short term goals – but i suppose if we want it bad enough, we’ll make it through.

g’s dad signed us up for a 5k on oct 29, so thus begins the 2-week training stint. just did 3 miles in 37 minutes… hoping to shave off several minutes from that in two weeks time. we shall see!

50/50

g and i watched 50/50 last night (how often do we have movie dates??) – really good. i knew i liked joseph-gordon levitt :] i think it was really well casted and the movie did a good job of balancing serious and funny. i cried… what is wrong with this recent slew of emotions where i can’t hold back tears? i blame the mother genes…

in other news, g bought us tickets (as a christmas gift) to watch les miserables in december! we have awesome baller seats and I AM SO EXCITED. favorite. musical. ever.

the jerk

nikon is a big fat jerk. first, he gets into the tube of golf balls (for the second time) and spreads them all over the floor downstairs. then, i find a half eaten bag of marshmallows that he stole from the pantry upstairs. not only did he eat them, but he had smeared the marshmallows into the rug and for some stupid reason, the plastic was also stuck to the rug.

i know it’s him and not oink because there is marshmallow stuck in his paws.

opening day

my agency had our “summer outing day” at the state fair for opening day… i had expected hoards of children since apparently dallas kids get days off of school for “state fair days” (wtf?) – but we were pleasantly surprised to not find that many children. it was the least crowded i have ever seen the fair (although, i typically only go for tx/ou… which is quite crowded)

we decided to take a pic in the orange convertible (hook ‘em!) and pretend that our hair was blowing in the wind. marta might be the only one who was successful at it… bliss looks like she didn’t try at all.

i just want to say – i’m loving life right now. i have nothing to complain about. completely and utterly blessed.
