first trip to LA Burger. did not disappoint.
it never looked so good
(part of recipe for making spaghetti sauce)
and – the final product with turkey meatballs… yum!
delicious miss shortcake from gourdoughs
also, celebrity siting: drew barrymore
spent the latter part of my evening reducing pomegranate juice to a pomegranate molasses. first time ever trying to reduce something. turned out okay, but happy that i did it :]
tomorrow’s menu: pomegranate glazed quail… stay tuned (the marinade smells DELICIOUS)
the one bad thing about being at home on a day off… i cannot stop eating. good thing i don’t keep an abundance of snack food in the house.
i tried out thomas keller’s baked beets and it was delicious. i didn’t really know how to plate it as it kept slipping around and i didn’t want to stain my clothes haha.
after consuming this whole beet, a few hours later i did pee a startlingly shade of red.
for the first time in a very long time, joks got together for a meal. we went out to marquee grill, which is celebrity chef tre wilcox‘s restaurant. we had many things to celebrate. love (ew), jobs, birthdays… life. i get really cheesy with them now but it’s disgusting so i’ll stop and show you a picture instead.
the best part was when tre chatted with jessi:
tre: ooh, where did you go to get some sun?
jessi: *confused, then slowly understands*… oh… it’s just alcohol.
tre: hahahahahaha
oks: hahahahahaha
then we celebrated jessi’s birthday by splurging at target for her IRC kids and getting them all the back to school items they could want. i forgot how fun it is shopping for school supplies. :] and hopefully, it will make them feel like little celebrities in their new life.
i’m getting inspired to cook again. yesterday morning, i curled up on the couch and read recipes and suggestions from thomas keller. i think some vegetable creations are on its way, along with some poussins or cornish hen. :]
dates with stephanie are fun, especially when they involve food
did you know that the ratatouille recipe used in the pixar film is thomas keller’s recipe?
:]
