pdx.2 – goodbye, pony cow

leaving portland now. i miss my pony cow friend. until next time!!

pdx.1

portland has been quite the pleasant surprise. our first night here we just relaxed and ate a delicious chinese thanksgiving meal. on friday, we had a great brunch at tin shed garden cafe and drove to (insert name here) waterfall where we hiked the 1+ mile to the top. beautiful!

decided to grab a snack so we wouldnt starve before our 8:15pm reservation at castagna. after a disappointing turnout at the food trucks, alas, voodoo doughnuts! btw- 13 donuts for 4 people? not a good idea and for those that care, RR donuts & gourdoughs > voodoo by a landslide.

dinner came fast enough – first molecular gastronomy experience for the pangs! all in all, amazing.

saturday was simple dim sum, saturday market and winery day! yum yum yum. had my first polish food which was AWESOME! officially converted!

vineyards had beautiful countryside with mt. hood in the background. dinner was at a brewery, great beer and food!

root beer braised pork belly & new england clams with fennel

more foodie goodness to come im eating brunch at a place called tasty & sons!

my string of trips are about to start this upcoming weekend (although austin shouldn’t really count… but i’m excited about this trip because i am cooking for the fam!)…

and all of the above (except for chi) are pretty much back to back weekends.

excited for the first – orlando. not just because i get to go to the WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER and disneyworld… [cheese] but i get to celebrate five wonderful years with g.  [/cheese]
